This past Sunday, 65 high school students gathered at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary to participate in a service night. The high school students from ABVM, Blessed Sacrament, and St. Brigid, worked for two hours to build community and serve the local community.
Students participated in activities to benefit local organizations in the community, including:
- Making homemade soup for the Toni & Trish House
- Baking and decorating cookies for the Open Door Luncheon
- Stuffing socks for Socks of Love to go to Open Door & House of Mercy
- Cards and handwritten notes for the homebound parishioners of our local parishes
- Tire chairs for the Open Door
- Staining picnic tables for Habitat for Humanity
- Making up little bags of candy for the Open Door, House of Mercy, and Shelterhouse
- Making rosaries for the students making their first Eucharist and Confirmation next spring
Needless to say, our students were busy serving and meeting their neighbors from other parishes. Good work!
